Sign in

  1. Open Settings > License

    In RafaBox, open Settings and choose License.

  2. Choose Sign in with email

    Type the address you paid with.

  3. Type the 6-digit code

    It arrives by email and lasts 10 minutes. Asking for a new code replaces the old one.

Were you given a license key, as a gift or for testing? Choose Use a license key instead and paste it.

Move RafaBox to another Mac

One license is active on one Mac at a time. Sign in on the new Mac and, when it says RafaBox is active on your other Mac, choose Use here instead. The other Mac signs out by itself, usually within about 15 minutes if it’s online. You can move up to three times a day.

Selling or wiping a Mac? Choose Sign out of this Mac in Settings > License first, and the license is free straight away.

Lost your license key?

You don’t need it. Sign in with the email address you paid with and the 6-digit code we send you. There’s nothing else to recover.

Cancel or update a card

Open Settings > License > Manage subscription. It opens the payment provider’s own portal, where you can cancel or change your card. RafaBox never sees or stores your card details.

A subscription renews monthly or yearly depending on the plan. If you cancel, RafaBox keeps working to the end of the period you’ve paid for. If a payment fails, it keeps working for 7 more days while you update your card.

Working offline

RafaBox checks its license now and then. Between checks it works offline for up to 72 hours, so a long flight is fine. If it has been offline longer than that, it asks you to connect once to carry on.

When RafaBox is read-only

When the trial ends, or a subscription ends or lapses, RafaBox goes read-only. Your history stays browsable, searchable and copyable, and Settings still work. New capturing, screenshots, recording, Scoop, the Dev Box, templates and workflows pause until you pick a plan and sign in.

What the license check sends

The license check is the only thing RafaBox sends over the internet. It sends:

  • your license key, or your email address when you sign in with a code
  • a salted hash of your Mac’s hardware ID, so one license stays on one Mac
  • your Mac’s name, so you can tell which Mac a license is on
  • the RafaBox and macOS versions

It never sends anything you copied, captured or converted. More on the privacy page.
